Basic training, Sheppard Field, Wichita Falls, Texas, 1942; technical training at Consolidated Aircraft, San Diego, California, 1942; assignment as head of operations, Sioux Falls, Iowa, 1942-44; description of his functions as a flight engineer; his description of the flying characteristics of the B-17; assignment to the 410th Bomb Squadron at Bury Saint Edmunds, England, May, 1944; his description of various missions over Germany; coping with enemy flak and fighters; his first mission to Berlin; his first encounter with enemy jet aircraft; Battle of the Bulge, December, 1944-January, 1945; his second raid to Berlin, 1945; postwar business career.

The Army Air Forces War Adjustment Course was established in 1944 at several locations in the U.S., one of which was Harvard Business School.
